Boat races planned on two sections of river
The organisers of this year’s Vientiane Boat Racing Festival have moved the traditional and modified 55-crew category events from their customary location opposite Vat Chan to a deeper section of the Mekong.
Vientiane Vice Mayor Mr Sihoun Sitthileuxay outlined the details at a press conference on Monday, saying that the men’s and women’s 55-crew races on Thursday would be held further downstream opposite the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel.
